FAQs

Entry is open to all kinds of campaigns from a variety of companies in the automotive space, including but not limited to, automakers, dealerships, car rental companies, online marketplaces, auto parts and repair shops, car maintenance and accessories suppliers, fuel and motor oil companies and tire companies. (For a more detailed list, please see the entry kit.)

Campaigns do not have to be created in-house by the auto company; they can be entered by an advertising agency or external partner that helped create the work.

Not at all. Campaigns that ran in countries outside the U.S. are welcome to enter.

We only ask that work entered was created and produced for a real company and ran in a media environment. Please do not enter work that was created only to run in award shows. If judges raise any flags, we will be following up and we’ll disqualify bogus work (e.g. work not approved by a client, work done for a client you don’t have, ads that were run once, at 3 a.m. in an obscure place, so they would be eligible to enter awards, etc.).

Campaigns must have run between Jan. 1, 2023, and July 1, 2024.

All entries are judged by the editorial teams of Automotive News and Ad Age.

All entry forms require background information on the marketing work, metrics and data to demonstrate its success and examples of the work itself. Specificity is key, as is context, allowing the judges to best understand idea behind the campaign and its impact.

Business results can include basic ad metrics like awareness or recall, but entrants will get further if submissions demonstrate success through other KPIs such as sales and market share.

In addition to a description of the purpose of the work or campaign and a summary of results, entrants will need to provide examples of the work that ran. This includes videos, photos and links to social posts or websites.

The entry portal requires all direct uploads (photos, videos or other files) to be 2GB or less. For anything larger, please supply a link. NOTE: Embedded hyperlinks are not supported within the portal. If you would like to link to a website, please include the full URL.

The deadline for all entries is Sept. 23, 2024, at 5 p.m. ET.

All entries must be submitted and paid by credit card online at AdAge.com/AutoAwards. Please contact awards@adage.com if you experience any issues submitting payment.

Unfortunately, once you have submitted your entry, you will not be able to log in to edit the form in any way. If there is factual information that is incorrect, please contact the awards team to request a change.

Please note changes cannot be made once the final deadline has passed and judging has started.

Winners will be notified in November and published on AutoNews.com and AdAge.com in December.
